The Cattle Baron's Ball — A Comedy in Two Acts by Scot Lahaie

THE CATTLE BARON’S BALL

A Comedy in Two Acts

Coming Soon — 2026

One Suite. Six doors. Nine People. One spectacular West Texas disaster.

The Presidential Suite of Preston’s Chapel Economy Inn and Cultural Emporium is the beating heart of West Texas culture. At least, that’s what its proprietor Benjamin Hobart would have you believe. Tonight it’s also ground zero for the resurrection of the Cattle Baron’s Ball, the county’s biggest event in a decade.

Hobart has a headliner, a backer, and a ballroom full of expectant guests. What he doesn’t have is a liquor license, a working catering van, or any guarantee that beloved country star Colt Waverly will make it off the bed and onto the stage.

Add a pair of identical twins with stars in their eyes, a bellhop with a ukulele, and a musical maid with a five-year-old secret — and the recipe for disaster is complete.
